Our Story
I wanted to create a shop that has encouraging gifts for yourself or to send to someone who might be experiencing a difficult time. Compassion, empathy and encouragement for others have always been important to me. The way you show up for people, the way that you care, I think it speaks volumes to your character above anything else. I’ll never forget the people who showed up for me in my most challenging times. I've shared some pieces of my journey below in hopes that you can relate and know you are not alone on your hard days. May you find gifts that bring more joy & kindness!
Why Drops of Encouragement?
Drops of encouragement started when I was 14 years old. While in middle school and high school, I would send out mixed cds (the good ‘ole days of Napster & Limewire) and an index card full of scriptures or an encouraging word to my friends or youth group leaders. The index card was always labeled “drops of encouragement.”
While wrestling with a career change and what I should do next, the Lord brought the idea of Drops of Encouragement into mind. It has already developed into more than I imagined (Ephesians 3:20) and I’m excited to see where it may lead!
Brayden's NICU Story
While my first pregnancy was uneventful, my first birth experience was anything but usual. My first son almost died at birth. He is a walking miracle and I am so thankful for his life.
The journey to open heart surgery
I'm not sure there is anything that can prepare you for open heart surgery at 34 but the lessons I learned throughout my experience helped me pursue life differently and not take anything for granted!
Addiction & Divorce
I never imagined divorce and addiction would be part of our lives. My kids and I have learned to find joy in the midst of some incredibly difficult life challenges.
